Samsung confirmed that it does not slow down smart phones with old batteries

After many users have noticed that the old iPhone with low-capacity batteries are slowing down, Apple has officially confirmed that it actually slows down the old iPhone with batteries that are degraded naturally. The company has been hit with multiple lawsuits on this and so far has issued an apology.

People naturally wonder if other smart phone manufacturers do this too. Samsung confirmed that it does not slow down smart phones with old batteries.

Exotic case of iPhone

It was a long conspiracy theory that Apple deliberately slows the elderly iPhone to get customers to buy a new one. In the light of recent reports containing sufficient evidence, Apple has confirmed that it does so but offered a different explanation.

Smart phone batteries produce less energy when they become older due to natural degradation. This can cause the device to turn off unexpectedly if the processor comes under heavy load and demands more power to increase speed.

Apple decided to throttle processor speed on the old devices in order to prevent unexpected shutdown caused by the inability of the battery to keep up. Whether it was or was not intended is another matter but also ended up limiting how fast the iPhone can get without explaining it to users. Apple introduced this behavior last year for the iPhone 6, 6S and C.

Apple's top rival Samsung has confirmed that they do not do this. The company said categorically that it does not reduce CPU performance through software updates over the life cycle of the smartphone. The following statement was sent:

Product quality, Samsung Mobile will always be top priority. We guarantee the long battery life of Samsung mobile devices through multi-layer safety measures, which include software algorithms that control current battery charging and charging period. We do not reduce CPU performance through software updates over phone life cycles.
